Underneath the surface wear Iraq is lies a huge body of oil. Under Kuwait lies almost no oil. The oil under Kuwait is a small part of the body of oil that is underneath of Iraq. As the oil under Iraq started getting used up Kuwait tunneled into the oil under Iraq. Kuwait began taking the oil that was under Iraqi soil.

When Iraq found out what Kuwait was doing the people of Iraq became very angry. Eventually the Iraqi government issued a warning for Kuwait to stop drilling under Iraq. After repeated warnings Iraq attacked Kuwait. Kuwait was quickly taken over by Iraqis forces.

The United States of America has been allied with Kuwait for many years. Many US merchants buy oil from Kuwait. Iraq posed a threat to losing a thrifty alley.

The United States Government started to issue threats to Iraq. Iraq refused to back down. The media started to portray Iraq as evil. Citizens of the US started to get angry with Iraq and Saddam Hussein. Finally, the President sent troops into Kuwai t. As Iraq was pushed out of Kuwait Iraqi troops burned Kuwait oil rigs to prevent Kuwait from taking more oil.

If the US citizens were more aware of what happened in Kuwait It seems that fewer people would have wanted to fight Iraq. If the United States was ever in a similar situation I think they would have done the same thing as Iraq.

As an example imagine that the US has an oil based economy. If oil prices are up the economy is up, but if oil prices go down the economy goes down. Now imagine that a neighbor, say Canada, started taking oil from under US soil. The US citizens wou ld start to worry that the economy would fall as the US ran out of oil. Many people in the US would say Canada was steeling from the US. Eventually the US government would issue warnings and if Canada did not stop the US would attack Canada.

In a Global Nation Arbitration between aggressors will be mandatory. Both sides will be heard and a verdict would be made, and most importantly nobody would die.
