Social Security IS a Ponzi Scheme

Dear Democrats,
I’ve always been an independent voter and probably always will. At times I’ve voted for your candidates, at times I’ve voted for Republicans candidates, and at times I’ve voted for “third party” candidates. You need to take responsibility for the actions that lead us to where we are today, just like John McCain accepted his part in enabling candidates like our current president via McCain’s running mate in 2008.
You waited to long to prosecute Trump. When he was convicted he should have been sentenced. He’s not wasting time prosecuting you. He caused an insurrection and you allowed him to run for president!
You have to get Joe Biden to stop saying he would have won and to accept how his own sexist and racist actions led to him undermining Harris. She could have won given more time, if Biden hadn’t said he was going to hire a “black woman” instead of the best candidate for the job, which enabled her to be called a diversity hire, and if she had been empowered to call Netanyahu what he is, a war criminal.
Democrats, this mess is your fault. We all make mistakes. Own up to them and fix them. You allowed the consolidation of news media making it easier for the current president to target. You enabled the the billionaire class to come to fruition and buy the 2024 election.
Your claim to have the moral high ground, yet Obama kept Gitmo open enabling our current president to use it. Obama also let W’s wars in the Middle East continue for all eight of his years as president! I disagree with our current president on almost every topic, but as half-harzardly as he implemented it, he ended the wars where you failed to.
Your commitment to war and the military industrial complex goes way back. Your golden boy JFK was responsible for radicalizing Cuba via the Bay of Pigs. He escalated Vietnam and then after his assassination your next president, LBJ, began the Vietnam war in earnest.
Your party is only an ally to the queer community when it suits you. President Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law making gay marriage illegal. Today many of you blame trans folks for losing the house, the senate, and the presidency! We’ve become inconvenient to you. It is not our fault. Protect us if you want our votes!
As quoted above, Madison was against factions (ie: political parties). John Adams created the first party. Thomas Jefferson created your party because while he knew parties were bad he figured a two party system was better than a one party system. Well, great, now here we are. Will you be able to bring us back to a two party system or are you going to let the president send you to CECOT? Having your minority leader send strongly worded letters isn’t going to cut it! Facism is here! Will there be any more elections?
Every time you say Social Security isn’t a Ponzi scheme you lose me and I tune out. When your rep was responding to the state of the union and said that I stopped watching. When Emma Vigeland said the same thing on Pod Save America it was hard to seriously listen to anything else she said. Every administration since the 1980s has spent money from social security. The current workers pay for the retired workers, which is fine if the population is steady or growing and wages are steady or growing. Neither are though. How is my generation supposed to pay for the baby boomers who are living longer than any prior generation? How are millenials and gen Z expected to pay for my generation when you’ve allowed so much wealth inequality that they don’t make as much as my generation? Maybe Social Security won’t run out of money the same way a classic Ponzi scheme does, but there’s no way my kids are going to get anything meaningful back and they shouldn’t be paying into such a broken system. Fix the system so a generation funds itself, not it’s forebears. Stop saying it’s not a Ponzi Scheme as if it isn’t the abject failure it is!
We’ve had this broken two party system for almost 250 years. All you need to do to end it is to include more than two parties in your debates! The only reason you have great politicians like AOC, Bernie Sanders, Barbara Lee, Cory Booker, and Pete Buttigieg is because they have nowhere else to go.
If you had allowed ranked choice voting, we wouldn’t have been here. You would rather have all or nothing, and thus here we are, with nothing!
The reason you care about Citizens United is because of your greed. You want that money for yourselves, you don’t care about getting mega donors out of politics.
When the masses wake up to realize you allowed the billionaire class to further wealth income inequality do you think it will end well? I want this to come to an end without bloodshed because if Americans start erecting guillotines or creating our equivalent of the Arab Spring it’s not going to end well for ANY of us.
Get a spine. Apologize for your MANY mistakes. Work to fix them and get the current president out of power!
